In February, I partnered with the incredible writer and blogger Jaleesa AKA Pretty Little Blerd, inspiring poet and writer Millispeaks and I created a wonderful event that promoted loving yourself. The event was held on February 22, 2020 at the Annex.
Each of us had our journey with self-love. We know how important it is for people to value themselves, be kind to themselves and challenge their own growth. We really wanted to create a space where we could practice self-love in community. Because like the kids from High School Musical sang, "We're all in this together."
For 2 months, we met, planned and organized. We worked with dope Houston-based vendors, and served our community in a lit fashion! I am so proud of what we did, because everyone walked away in great spirits. Feeling good about themselves. I am grateful to every person who took time to volunteer and everyone that attended. Thank you for loving yourself in community.
In this uncertain age, it helps to reflect on what a beautiful event Love Looks Good On You became. It was diffidently a joy to work with Pretty Little Blerd and Millispeaks! They are both women who I admire. I am grateful to God for the opportunity.
